Korean War, a conflict between Communist and non-Communist forces in Korea, began on June 25, 1950 when North Korean forces invaded South Korea. The conflict ended on July 27, 1953 when an armistice was signed. Casualties in the war were heavy. U.S. losses were placed at over 54,000 dead and 103,000 wounded. A permanent peace treaty never replaced the armistice and, technically, the war continues.
We know the names of two PHS graduates who died in the Korean war, but we know nothing beyond their names. The webmaster would be grateful for any additional information about these men as well as any names that should be, but aren’t, included here.
