GEORGE ABBOTT - (Feb. 2008)
After graduation from PHS in 1945 I attended Union College in Schenectady, NY for a year.
I kicked around for a year and then went to work for the NY Telephone Co. in 1947.
I got married in 1950, still married, 57 years. One son. Transferred to Bell Labs, 1952. Left Bell Labs 1959,
went to RCA, then IBM. Got a degree in Electrical Engineering from Brooklyn Poly.
Stayed at IBM till 1987, took early retirement.
On faculty at North Carolina State University for 6 years, then retired. Consulting for a couple of years,
bought present Company, GRT Electronics. Our business is assembling printed circuit boards.
I've retired twice, didn't take either time.
I'm a licensed PE, an active pilot, CFII and A&P. Hobbies are cars and R/C model airplanes.
